Some Background on Me

I became interested in internet marketing about 2 years ago.  It began when I heard one of those commercials on the radio where the guy is sitting on the beach and you can hear seagulls and waves crashing in the background.  He's sipping a pina colada and talking about how he makes $10,000 a day without lifting a finger.  They played a couple of testimonials of other people talking about how they've quit their day jobs and now they have all this free time to spend with their kids.  Sounds great!

2 years ago I was 30 years old, living alone in a 1 bedroom apartment that I could barely afford.  Working full time at a job that was underpaying me.  I was 80 lbs overweight and depressed.  I had $21,000 in student loans that I was still paying off, $6,000 in credit card debt, 4 years left on my car payment.  Making money online seemed like the answer to all my problems.

So I started my journey in the same fashion that many of you probably did.  I typed in "make money online" into Google and found page after of internet marketing gurus promising hundreds of thousands of dollars in bright bold text and fancy looking sales pages.  I was hooked.

Internet Marketing is a Science

I signed up for commission junction and clumsily built a couple of sites, kicked back, put my feet up on my desk and expected torrents of cash to come rolling in to my account.  Yeah, it didn't work out like that.  My first site made $36 in 6 months and I spent hundreds of dollars on Adwords campaigns.  I was driving a bunch of traffic, but nobody was buying my stuff.  Because my site was crap and it looked like crap.  I got frustrated and gave up with the whole thing.

The simple fact is when you build a website (and expect to make any money from it) you need to optimize it for Google.  There's an entire industry dedicated to Search Engine Optimization (SEO).  That's why there are internet marketing experts who get paid a lot of money to teach you their skills.

Set Realistic Goals For Yourself

I don't want to rain on anybody's parade, but the fact is that 95% of people who attempt internet marketing fail.  They fail, because they believe that they can make a 6 figure income without doing any work.  Some of these gurus really do make millions every year, but they are at the top 1% of the game.  I'll put it this way:  Tiger Woods made $90 million last year between earnings and endorsements.  If Tiger were to give you personal golf lessons and teach you everything he knows, you'd be at a great advantage.  You could probably be the best golfer out of everybody you play with.  But you wouldn't be making that kind of money.

I thought if I could use internet marketing as a part time job and get paid like I was working at a part time job then I would consider it a success.  I figured; $10/hr x 20 hrs per week x 4 weeks per month would be $600 per month after taxes.  That's a very realistic goal.  If I could make $1,000 per month, that would be life changing for me.  Now, I live in Massachusetts, where a tiny 1 bedroom apartment goes for $800 per month.  If you live someplace where the cost of living is cheaper, that kind of money could really be life changing.

Conclusion

Thank you if you're still reading.  In conclusion, internet marketing works great as a great part time job.  You just have to make sure you're doing it right and use the right systems.  If some guy is promising you sports cars, women, vacations and boats, then it's probably too good to be true.

Set realistic goals for yourself.  Don't get discouraged if your first websites don't make any money.  I gave up at first and now it's been 6 months since I've rekindled my interest.  I'm now making over $1,000 per month because I've found some good money making systems that teach you step-by-step how to make money.  It's been life changing for me.

This literally happened to me

Basically, last year Google released their Panda Update and low quality affiliate websites have been suffering ever since.

There was a time not very long ago when you could throw a cheap website up and rank #1 just by buying an exact match domain name and doing some very basic SEO.  If you wanted to sell “yellow football cleats” all you had to do was buy www.yellowfootballcleats.com and vomit up a couple of articles and you’d rank for that keyword.

To everybody’s shock and awe, Google decided that this wasn’t really a good thing.  They felt that web searchers should get quality websites at the top of page 1.  The nerve, right?

 

Why it Happened to Me

I’ve done some things….Some things I’m not very proud of in the past.  I’ve built….low quality affiliate blogs.  :(   This is something that most of us have attempted.  Many of us believed the gurus when they told us that you can use cheap content to make a fortune.

Last summer I threw an Amazon niche site together over the course of a few days.  I found a keyword that was getting 880 local searches a month with extremely low competition.  I bought the exact match .com domain for the keyword and threw about 20 reviews up which basically amounted to >>Hey You, Buy This Now!!<<

Well, it worked for some reason.  After about 6 months the site had the top 3 spots on page 1 for that keyword and my links were converting.  Things got real nice in December during Christmas shopping season and continued along nicely until January 18th.  That was the day I noticed my page views fell off a cliff and I basically stopped making money off that site.

I’ve been working on it, trying to make it more presentable to Google but the site is useless now.  The site’s not even in the top 100 for any of my keywords.  I enjoy working on the site and I like the niche a lot so I’ll keep plugging away at fixing it.

What You Can Do to Prevent This From Happening

1.  Build quality websites with quality, useful content!  That means if you’re posting product reviews with the hopes of making sales then you need to actually describe the product. Write several hundred words about the product without it being a massive wall of text.  Build quality non-spammy backlinks.

2.  Google cares a lot about social media.  They started Google+ last year and they own Youtube.  They want you to get interactive with your readers.  Get your website liked on Facebook, get your links tweeted around (by actual people), make Youtube videos.  Oh by the way, on an unrelated note, you can add me to your favorite social media sites in that sidebar  –>

I know the room might be spinning right now, but that’s the way these crazy interwebs are moving in 2012.

I’m going to make this quick because I haven’t purchased the product yet.

But it looks like Matt Carter has done it again.  The creator of the fantastic Rapid Profit Formula along with Mark Dickinson, has come out with a new course called Video Commission Formula. It’s just been released today so I haven’t had a chance to sink my teeth into it yet, but I am definitely going to check this out.

If you’ve read my blog, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of Matt.  He’s a very honest marketer who gives realistic goals and expectations.  He’s not one of these gurus who suckers people in by promising them sports cars and millions overnight.

Video Commission Formula is a, well, formula for making money online by using Youtube traffic rather than the traditional search engine traffic.   Youtube, if you didn’t know, was purchased by Google so “the big G” like Youtube videos.  A lot.

The course shows you how to pick the right keywords (and the right offers) to get the best commissions and so you won’t waste your time.  All you have to do is COPY THE FORMULA and you’ll be good to go.

Benefits of using Youtube for Online Marketing

  • It’s free!  No buying domain names or hosting or anything like that.
  • Most websites take months to start ranking in Google and making money.  Youtube videos can rank highly in a fraction of that.
  • It’s newbie friendly.  You don’t need to be some kind of marketing expert.
  • Google likes to rank Youtube videos highly on page 1.  I’m sure you see it all the time in search results.
  • You don’t need to spend hours writing content for a website.  Making affiliate websites is rewarding but time consuming.

 

But Isn’t it Hard to Make Videos?

Not at all.  You don’t even need a webcam or microphone, unless you want to use one and get yourself involved in the videos.  You don’t need any technical skills either.  All you need is a free screen-recording tool and about 5 minutes to make your video.

Is Commission Cheat a Scam Product?

I was sent an e-mail today with a link to the “Commission Cheat“ (NOT an affiliate link) sales page.  I actually unsubscribed from their list after watching the sales video for this product.  You can watch it for yourself with that link above.  This is a snippet of the e-mail I recieved:

I wanted to let you know about some pretty cool software/system that generates automatic mini sites, and updates them with viral content.

It was one of those e-mail lists that I signed up for and then they try to sell you every piece of crap Clickbank Product that comes out so they can make a few bucks off of you and pretend like they’re doing you a huge favor by introducing you to this “amazing” product.

 

Danger: Warning Flags

1.  The guy in the sales video says “you can make daily commissions like this” and shows you screenshots from Clickbank, Paypal and Amazon that flip by really quickly.  This is a really old trick.

The Clickbank screenshot shows a couple of thousand dollars per day.  I can believe that the creator of Commission Cheat makes that much every month…but from selling his own internet marketing products, not by selling weight loss or dog training e-books.

The Paypal screenshot shows his monthly earnings, I assume from those Clickbank sales and the Amazon one…oh boy, this was my favorite.

He shows the monthly earnings from March of 2010 with the revenue (the money Amazon made) circled instead of the advertising fees (the commission you earn).  Look, making $383 in a month from Amazon is a nice chunk of change, but if this guy is lying to you right off the bat, what does that say about this product??

He does it again a few minutes later and shows a 3 month span with the revenue ($15,000) circled.  This isn’t an accident either.  He goes on to tell you that he makes $60,000 per year from Amazon.  He’s lying to you.  On purpose.  To get your money.  Of course, this is followed up by pictures of houses and chicks and sports cars.

He goes on from there to show some more sketchy Clickbank screenshots.  I could go on and on, but just watch the video for yourself just for a goof.

2.  One of the first things the guy says in the Commission Cheat sales video is that “the system has been HIDDEN from you” and keeps using the words “private” and “hidden”.  It says that there’s a “limited number” of copies for sale.  Then there’s my favorite: “This page could be removed at any time”.  Yes folks, you really hit the lottery today because this lightning in a bottle could be gone tomorrow!!!

3.  The words “automatic” or “automated” scare me when it comes to internet marketing.  “All you have to do is copy and paste your affiliate links” he says.

4.  Using overly specific sales numbers.  Instead of the sales guy saying “I made $130,000 using the Commission Cheat system” they say “I made $128,555.40 last year” and shows you his fuzzed-out Adsense screenshot.  He also claims to have made $471,685.94 last year combined from Adsense, Clickbank and Amazon.

5.  There’s this thing that all these internet marketing junk peddlers do where they say “Hey man, if you’re looking for a magic button, 1-click software then hit the road, Bucko because this isn’t for you!” just to erase that doubt from your head.  Then they go and promote their magic software that will make you thousands while you sleep.  With no work.

6.  Says it doesn’t require SEO or article writing.  Says how expensive it is to have your own domain name, hosting and to hire a programmer to build your site for you (to the tune of $2,000?).  Which is completely unnecessary, by the way.  Buying a domain name and slapping a WordPress theme on it takes all of 10 minutes to do.

 

What the Software Supposedly Does

Supposedly you make money by creating “viral” videos that generate their own traffic.  He shows famous internet memes and basically implies that you could capture that type of traffic with your videos and make money by placing ads all around the edge of those videos.  I mean if Break.com and CollegeHumor.com get hundreds of thousands of hits then surely you can too, right?

The money sites are hosted on their own “Gumshare” domains.  You post a Youtube video and then place ads all around it and hope that it goes viral.  It seems to me that you can do this yourself on any type of website or blog.  And pick which ads you want to place around the video.

Plus I’m going to guess that if one of these videos does happen to go viral, people would just link to the Youtube video itself and not the Gumshare webpage that the video and ads are sitting on.

Conclusion

I hope my Commission Cheat review was helpful to you.  I’m not telling you not to buy this product, I’m just giving my opinions of it based on the sales video.  Maybe the product is better than the sales video makes it out to be, but I doubt it.

I’ve seen too many of these products over the years and it infuriates me when these “gurus” try to trick and take advantage of people to turn a profit.

The creator of this product isn’t the only one making money from it.  Do a Google search for Commission Cheat and look at all the affiliates making commissions from it.  Read some of the reviews.  Look at the people who bought domain names with “commission cheat” in the URL.  They’re all trying to get a piece of the action too.

OK, I have another review to give.  This is my Rapid Profit Formula Review.  Here’s my completely uncensored, honest review of this product.  I’ll tell you everything you need to know about this product and how you can make it into a part time job from home.

What is Rapid Profit Formula?

Rapid Profit Formula was developed by Matt Carter, who started out much the same way as me;  toiling away with different marketing programs, falling for scams, building some failed websites.  He got fed up with it and decided to develop his own successful formula, which he did over the course of 6 months.  Right away Matt shows you video of some of his affiliate accounts.  There’s no photoshopped screenshots like some of these other scammers use.  He makes hundreds of dollars a day and you can see it right there in the video.

He shows you step-by-step how to create websites selling physical products.  Rapid Profit Formula is a long and detailed program.  I purchased it a week ago and I’m still going through all the videos, reading the PDFs and taking notes.

 

What’s Included:

The Rapid Profit Formula course is split into 7 parts which cover the following topics:  Introduction, Planning your website and an introduction to Affiliate Networks, Buying a domain name and setting up WordPress, Researching and writing reviews, On-page SEO, Off-page SEO and link building and Site assessment.

Some Negative Points:

  1. You need to register domain names for your sites.  But you can get web hosting for like $6/month.  [Affiliate Link]
  2. You need to spend some time and effort getting your sites built and doing keyword research.  Anyone who promises you push button websites is either a scammer or selling a mediocre product that will spit out ugly, unreadable sites. 
  3. You do need to do some work with your sites even after you get them built up.  Back linking sucks, but it’s a necessary evil if you want to make money online as a part time job from home. 

 

The Good Points:

  1. You don’t need any prior internet marketing experience.  It’s perfect for beginners and even intermediate level marketers.
  2. Matt takes you by the hand through the whole process of building your websites from start to finish.
  3. This program focuses more on selling physical products, rather than digital products from Clickbank so you can expand your money making options.  Personally, I think physical products are the best way to make money online.
  4. Once the sites are up and running, they make you money on autopilot and you can build as many as you want to increase your profits.
  5. It’s a great part time job from home for a student or parent who doesn’t have a lot of free time.

 

Google Panda Update:

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Google Panda Update, basically Google decided that low quality, spammy affiliate websites with phony backlinks don’t deserve to rank highly in the search results anymore.  This update was released during the spring of 2011 around the same time that the original version of Rapid Profit Formula was released.

You’ll be pleased to know that Matt went through and updated his entire course for 2012!  So you know you’ll be getting up-to-date information on how to rank highly in Google without getting penalized.  Matt has always preached building high quality sites anyway.

 

Conclusion:

To wrap up my Rapid Profit Formula Review, this is honestly the best internet marketing course I’ve ever purchased.  If you read some of my other affiliate marketing scam reviews on this site you’ll know that I don’t say this lightly.  I don’t promote junk products and I won’t take commissions pushing garbage on my readers.

The thing I really like is that he is very honest, doesn’t make promises that are too good to be true and make you believe you can make millions overnight. He shows you step-by-step in great detail how to set up a profitable website from start to finish.

Matt Carter also goes into great detail about back linking and SEO.  This is the least fun part about internet marketing but you have to do it and he shows you a lot of great hints.  My final word is this; Rapid Profit Formula is a very unique system, a great part time job from home and definitely worth investing in.

Auto Wealth Maker Scam

So I finally decided to check out the Auto Wealth Maker Scam product.  It’s a really hot product that’s been #1 on ClickBank for a couple of weeks now and on the surface it looked like a great part time job from home.  My personal opinion is that it’s a GIANT SCAM.

I actually went and removed the link from this post.  I don’t want any of you following a link from my site and wasting your money.  I’m not interested in promoting sham products just so I can make a few bucks.  I could have just left the link there and made some commissions from it but I think it’s unethical and there’s a LOT of reviewers out there who promote products like this, but I won’t do it.

There are some honest programs out there.

Something like Google Sniper 2.0 is a good product that I personally stand behind.  I’ve been pretty busy working on my sniper sites and I’m also trying out the Job Crusher 2.0 program right now.  Like I promised, I’ll give a better review of that once I start testing it out.  But so far it seems like an AMAZING system to build a part time job from home.  It focuses more on selling physical products through Amazon rather than ClickBank products. So my advice is to stay away from the Auto Wealth Maker Scam product.  

Google Sniper Review

The first product I’m going to talk about here is Google Sniper 2.0.  Here’s my completely uncensored, honest review of this product.  I’ll tell you everything you need to know about this product and how you can make it into a part time job from home.

What is Google Sniper 2.0?

Google Sniper 2.0 was developed by George Brown, who is a self-made millionaire at only 23 years old.  He makes his money from this system that he’s been developing for years.  One thing I really like about George is that the first thing he shows you on his website is video of his Clickbank accounts.  There’s no photoshopped screenshots like some of these other scammers use.  He made half a million dollars last year from his “sniper sites” and you can see it right there in the video.

He shows you step-by-step how to create a 1 page website in a couple of  hours that can make you thousands of dollars on auto pilot.

 

Google Sniper 2.0 is a HUGE program.  The material took me a week to get through it all.  It’s extremely thorough.

Here’s a picture I took of the main manual for the course.  It’s 104 pages, so it’s not some thing he just threw together.  The course also comes with hours of video where he takes you by the hand and shows you every step of the process.  I told you it was thorough.  :)

 

 

 

Some Negative Points:

  1. You need to register domain names for your sniper sites.  But you can get web hosting for like $6/month.  [Affilate Link]
  2. The sites take some time to build.  It takes me about twice as long as George.  The more sites you build, the faster you’ll get though.  
  3. You need to do a little bit of back linking on your sites so they get indexed on Google.

Some Good Points:

  1. The program is perfect for beginners to internet marketing.  You don’t need ANY prior knowledge.
  2. George shows you how to build a website from start to finish in just a couple of hours.
  3. You never have to touch the sites again, unless you want to fine tune them.
  4. The sniper sites make you money on autopilot and you can build as many as you want to increase your profits.
  5. It’s a great part time job from home for a student or parent who doesn’t have a lot of free time.

Conclusion:

Honestly, Google Sniper is the first program that has made me money online so I have a soft spot for it.  Within a couple days of building my first sniper site, I made my first couple of sales on Clickbank and I’ll never forget how excited I felt.  And I’ve only had it for a couple of months!  I’m still in the learning process.

Before this I fooled around for a couple years, tried some other programs that didn’t work, fell for the guys who promise you sports cars and mansions and made some lousy sites that made me no money.  The bottom line is this; Google Sniper 2.0 is a very unique system, a great part time job from home and definitely worth checking out.

Part Time Job From Home

 

Is it possible to succeed with a part time job from home?  It absolutely is.

If I can do it, anybody can.

I am seriously the laziest person in the world.  I still work at my full-time job and do affiliate marketing on the side.  I work 8 hours a day hunched over a computer and sit in traffic for a half hour both ways.  When I get home I just want to have a couple of beers and watch the Red Sox.  The last thing I want to do is stare at a computer screen for hours (unless I’m goofing around on Tumblr or Twitter).

In this economy, it’s hard to find part time jobs that are actually hiring.  The best part of internet marketing as a part time job from home is that you can work on your own schedule and sell whatever interests you.  That’s why it’s a good job for students, working parents and stay at home parents who don’t have a whole lot of spare time.
